Built in 1837, Selema Hall was the first building built in what is now the Riedlonn neighborhood. Selema Hall was the antebellum house for a 6000 acre farm and was based on the architecture of another historic Louisville home, the Farmington House, which is said to be based on plans by Thomas Jefferson. In 1926 the first homes were beginning to be built, and all followed suit in the Tudor style, using brick and stone as the main materials.

The Clifton neighborhood is one of Louisville’s most unique and artistic communities offering eclectic dining options, antique stores, and locally owned shops. St. Matthews is home to two of the largest malls in the area, Mall St Matthews, and Oxmoor Mall, which are the 2nd and 5th largest malls in Kentucky respectively. St. Matthews is also well know for having many high-end boutiques.
Riedlonn is just a short drive away from the Ohio River and all it has to offer. Cox’s Park is on the River and offers playgrounds, picnic areas, a boat dock, sports fields, and walking trails. The Watertower is just a few minutes away from the Riedlonn neighborhood and is the oldest ornamental water tower in the World and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Watertower is home to the Louisville Visual Arts Society, but also holds many annual events including the Kentucky Derby Boat Race Party, Kentucky Reggae Festival, and the Blues-N-Jazz Bar BQ Festival.
